Join us for THE FOURTH 2022 BANKING ESSENTIAL WEBINAR The Road to Basel IV: Navigating the Challenges Facing European Banks Tuesday 6 December | 15:30 CEST / 14:30 GMT | ONLINE |
|
In this webinar we will discuss the expected impact of the final Basel capital rules — known as Basel IV — on European banks. How can banks best prepare to meet the increased capital requirements and what are the key challenges on the way to the full implementation of Basel IV? We will look back at 14 years of Basel capital reforms in Europe and discuss why those reforms were necessary and what has been achieved so far. We will explore additional challenges for banks in the current volatile environment and how that could impact their readiness to start the implementation of Basel IV rules. We will also discuss adjustments proposed by European authorities that could potentially ease the implementation of Basel IV for local banks and will look in the future to possible changes to bank capital buffers as the Basel IV rules are implemented. During this 45-minutes webinar, you will: Find out about the latest plans for the implementation of the final Basel III rules in Europe Learn how the Basel reforms have changed European banking since the global financial crisis Understand the challenges facing banks, including the move to a standardized approach of assessing portfolio risks, especially when it comes to mortgages and loans to unrated corporates Explore the potential risks an implementation in a downturn could pose for banks Hear what further changes to capital rules might be on the horizon as regulators debate the usability of bank buffers |
