IOC and Beijing 2022 upcoming events in Greece – Information for the media
IOC Executive Board meeting
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board (EB) will meet on Saturday 16 October 2021 in Athens, Greece.
The EB is scheduled to receive updates on the activities of the Olympic Movement and the IOC administration, plus reports from the Organising Committees for future Olympic Games.

100 years of EB and International Olympic Academy inauguration
On Sunday 17 October 2021, the IOC Executive Board (EB) will gather at the Pierre de Coubertin monument in Ancient Olympia, where his heart is buried, to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the creation of the EB.
This will be followed by a ceremony to mark the inauguration of the renovated International Olympic Academy premises, also in Ancient Olympia, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

On the same day, the IOC will provide a video news release with b-roll footage from both events to all the broadcasters via the IOC Newsroom platform.
Beijing 2022 Olympic Flame-lighting and Handover Ceremonies
The Olympic flame will be carried by a few torchbearers in Ancient Olympia and then travel to Athens.
On the following day, Tuesday 19 October 2021, the flame will be delivered to the Beijing 2022 Organising Committee delegation at a Handover Ceremony at the Panathenaic Stadium starting at 11 a.m. CEST.
The media accreditation process for both these events is being managed by the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC). Please contact the HOC via press@hoc.gr for any questions.
The live broadcast feeds (with graphics in English and the Olympic rings in the top left) for both events will be offered free of charge to the media. Advanced signal booking is required via otrbookings@overon.es (booking reference OF 20211018 for the Flame-lighting Ceremony and OF 20211019 for the Handover Ceremony) and must be done no less than two hours prior to the transmission start time.
The IOC will also provide video news releases after each event via the IOC Newsroom platform.
All usage by non-rights-holding broadcasters and bona fide media organisations will be subject to the News Access Rules Applicable to the Olympic Torch Relay of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, that will be made available here.
