IOC meetings prior to and during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games - Information for the Media

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will hold a number of meetings in Tokyo prior to and during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, which will take place from 23 July to 8 August:

- IOC Executive Board (EB) meeting: 17 and 18 July 2021 at Okura Hotel

- 138^th IOC Session: 20 and 21 July 2021 at Okura Hotel

All meetings are taking place in the Okura Hotel, the Olympic Family Hotel (OFH). Please note that this hotel is not an official venue in the activity plan according to the Playbooks and there will be no permanent guest passes for the restricted areas of the hotel due to the COVID-19 countermeasures.

Media representatives who will not be in Tokyo will have the possibility of watching all the press conferences of these events live on YouTube.

Media Access

IOC Executive Board meeting

The IOC Executive Board meeting is closed to the media. IOC press conferences will take place in the Main Press Centre (MPC).

IOC Session

The proceedings of the IOC Session will be available via closed circuit TV at the Main Press Centre (MPC) as well as on IOC Media YouTube.

Due to the COVID-19 countermeasures, there will be no working area in the Okura Hotel. Media representatives are therefore encouraged to work at the MPC. Owing to the restrictions, and in accordance with the Playbook rules, the IOC Session will also be closed to ENG cameras and photographers. For the vote of the host of the Games of the XXXV Olympiad, a very small pool will be arranged by the IOC.

The press conferences following the IOC Session will take place in the MPC.
