Pro-life groups are calling for an investigation into why a man was seen leaving a Pittsburgh Planned Parenthood clinic carrying bags that he then placed inside a cooler before driving off in a car that displayed the logo of an organ harvesting company with ties to the University of Pittsburgh. Katie O’Brien, a pro-life advocate with 40 Days for Life Pittsburgh and Sidewalk Advocates for Life of Pittsburgh, shared a video on social media of the Oct. 5 incident. In a statement to CP, O'Brien said she questioned the man about the contents inside the bags but received no answer. "It seemed odd that he came out with a handful of Ziplock bags and put them in the cooler rather than just taking the cooler into the facility," she explained. In a statement to CP, the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) insisted that, despite its logo being displayed on the vehicle, the man seen leaving the abortion clinic after placing the bags inside a cooler was not one of its employees. Archbishop William Lori of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore, who serves as chairman of the USCCB's Committee on Pro-Life Activities, has issued a statement in response to President Joe Biden's vow that codifying a right to abortion into federal law will be his top priority if Democrats maintain control of both houses of Congress. "The President is gravely wrong to continue to seek every possible avenue to facilitate abortion instead of using his power to increase support and care to mothers in challenging situations," Lori wrote. "This single-minded extremism must end, and we implore President Biden to recognize the humanity in preborn children and the genuine life-giving care needed by women in this country." Read more.

Years after resigning as leader of the now defunct Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Wash., Mark Driscoll claims that Mars Hill leaders planned to accuse him of adultery. In a teaching series video published on Saturday, Driscoll, now the founding senior pastor of Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Ariz., said that "multiple people" indicated there was a "nuclear option" in place to accuse him of adultery in order to take over his pulpit. Sutton Turner, who formerly served as chief elder at Mars Hill, told The Roys Report that Driscoll’s allegations against the leaders are "totally false" and part of his ongoing campaign "to throw dirt on the former investigating elders of Mars Hill." West Virginia has agreed to amend its policies to allow trans-identified individuals to more easily change the gender marker on their birth certificates as part of a legal settlement with the ACLU. According to the LGBT Movement Advancement Project, West Virginia is now one of 27 states that issue new birth certificates for trans-identified people without requiring them to undergo gender reassignment surgery or obtain a court order. Previously, West Virginia residents needed a court order directing the gender marker change, and the state amended birth certificates "utilizing a strike-through method" that left "amended information on the face of the amended birth certificate and legible." At an event hosted by the conservative think-tank The Heritage Foundation on Tuesday, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito said that the leaking of the draft decision that overturned Roe v. Wade made members of the high court "targets for assassination." Alito called the leak, which was published by Politico, "a grave betrayal of trust" and an unprecedented "shock" that "certainly changed the atmosphere at the court for the remainder of last term."
