| Ironside will be released in the taproom on Wednesday 3/17.
Named after Norse Viking chief and legendary king of Sweden, Björn Ironside. Ironside is a bold English-Style Barleywine. The color of this beer is a breathtaking burnt sienna with a gorgeous off-white head. Ironside is full-bodied yet deceptively easy-drinking for 11.3% ABV.
18 months in a single Brandy puncheon allowed this beer to develop complex notes of caramel, toffee, gingerbread, clove, oak, vanilla, and Werther's candies. The finish is moderately dry and leaves a pleasantly roasty charred oak flavor dancing on the pallet.
This beer is the first in what will be an evolving series of Barleywine. For that reason, we decided not to adjunct the base beer. The balance and complexity of this beer speaks for itself.
Bottles and small pours will be available starting on 3/17 exclusively at the brewery. We will not be offering growler fills of Ironside.
Bottles can be purchased online for same day pickup starting on Wednesday. If you plan to pick up your bottles at a later date, that's fine! Just give us a heads up in the comment section at checkout. Ideally, pickups would happen no later than Sunday. Proxies are also fine. Please list the name of the person picking up in the comment section at checkout.
