Good afternoon! Here's a look at some of our top stories today.


Safe to drink?

To better understand how saltwater intrusion affects drinking water for hundreds of thousands of people in and around Baton Rouge, regulators are trying to find out how much water industrial users are pumping out of the ground. But the Baton Rouge Water Co. has sued to stop those meters, arguing they're inaccurate, redundant, and will add unnecessary costs for their customers. David Mitchell has the story.


Refinery explosion

A huge Louisiana refinery was rocked by an explosion and fire Monday that wounded six people, but it was not immediately clear what caused the morning blast at the Marathon Petroleum Corp. plant in Garyville, between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Here's the latest on the blast.
