Hemp battle: Louisiana's booming consumable THC industry is one step closer to being shut down. A state House committee approved a bill Tuesday to shutter the market over the objections of business owners who have gotten into the $33 million industry. James Finn has the story.
Noncompete clauses: Also on Tuesday, state lawmakers approved a bill restricting noncompete agreements for doctors, handing a major win to competitors of Ochsner Health System. Ochsner has fought for years to sustain the practice that critics say keeps doctors from freely changing jobs. James Finn has the story.
Salty language: In Jefferson Parish, 24th Judicial District Court Judge Chick Foret attended a hearing over his conduct during recent courtroom proceedings, which includes angry outbursts and profanity that has lead to several complaints against him. John Simerman has the story.
