Dapper destination: Elegant penguins go on a field trip

Aquariums are known for their impressive collections of fish and sea life, and some are fortunate enough to keep penguin colonies for visitors to admire. But with the spread of COVID-19, nobody is visiting the aquariums anymore. Rather than get depressed about it, employees at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago decided to let the penguins out for a visitor-free field trip. With no one else but employees in the building, the penguins were given free reign to walk about the aquarium and admire the other exhibits for themselves. Better still, the Shedd Aquarium Twitter account uploaded footage of the seabirds’ escapades for the whole internet to enjoy. If you want to check out the Shedd Aquarium in person, you’ll have to wait a few more weeks until quarantine starts to wind down. For now, this aquarium is for the birds!

This isn’t the first time a group of penguins got VIP treatment.
