Guidance has been published for the house building industry ahead of new regulations on fire suppression systems coming into effect next year from the Scottish Government.


 

An aspirating smoke detection system (ASD) from Patol has helped an award-winning architect to achieve clean lines for a dramatic new house project in South Devon. ASD is increasingly being adopted as a mainstream solution in many varied environments.

In this one, Architect Stan Bolt was adamant that he did not want conventional smoke detectors impacting on the building interior. The Securiton ASD 535-2 detector is located in the central plant room, with air sampling pipework feeding from the detector, through the ceiling void and into capillary tubes which draw air from sampling points in the lounge, master bedroom and corridors.
