Is someone finally doing their job in Washington?
You wouldn’t know it from the headlines.
But while corporate media obsesses over campaign rallies and partisan stunts, the new FDA Commissioner quietly dropped a report of his first 100 days in office that reads like a blueprint for draining the swamp.
So, who is this guy?
Dr. Marty Makary isn’t a bureaucrat. He’s a Johns Hopkins surgeon, best-selling author, and straight shooter who’s called out corruption in medical billing, public health, and Big Pharma for years.
He’s testified before Congress, fought for pharma price transparency, and now—he’s taking a scalpel to the most bloated agency in government…the FDA, which controls 20% of the U.S. economy—everything from drugs to food to diagnostics.
Let’s be clear: the FDA has been a mess for decades.
Bureaucratic. Corrupt. Captured by the very industries it’s supposed to regulate.
The same agency that has let Big Pharma get away with murder by way of the opioid crisis… that’s approved chemicals banned in Europe… that’s let conflicts of interest run wild on advisory panels.

Why does all this matter?
Because for years, the FDA has operated in a vacuum—shielding industry insiders and ignoring real public health threats, with very little (if any) scrutiny. And no one seemed willing to fix it.
Now, at least one man is asking the right questions…and taking serious action.
Of course, beltway insiders are already sharpening their knives. You don’t go after food lobbies, drug giants, and corrupt consultants without making enemies.
Granted, Makary may have limited power—and Congress still pulls the purse strings.
But this is what REAL reform looks like: focused, serious—and often buried under meaningless, but flashy, political headlines.
It’s early. And we’re not handing out medals yet. But for once, someone in Washington might actually be fighting for you.
Let’s see how long they let him.
