| Welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Thursday, Aug. 7. Today's newsletter is short and sweet. Wednesday was a relatively quiet day on the news front as Saints coaches and scouts split their time between the LSU Pro Day in Baton Rouge and internal draft meetings at the team's training facility in Metairie. Thus, there wasn't much going on other than a few conference calls with recently signed players. I had a chance to visit with receiver Tre'Quan Smith via conference call and chat with him about the upcoming 2022 season and why he is bullish on the Saints' offense. Granted, it's the offseason, where hype and optimism always run rampant. But Smith gave some sound reasons why he thinks the Saints offense is primed to explode in 2022. Here's my story. We'll have more stories throughout the week as free agency winds down and we prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft.
