It has been a hard week on top of what has already been a pretty tough year. People are struggling in so many vast and different ways across the world, and I often feel a helplessness that can quickly turn to despair. On top of that, it can be hard to know what to do when it comes to supporting those in need. Luckily, staff writer Griffin Wynne has laid out an easy way to do so this week. They explain that finding direct ways to get involved in our communities prevents and reduces harm, and is an easy way to help our neighbors survive and thrive. Since unhoused and marginalized people are at risk right now, Wynne asked women's shelters to share the donations they need the most. A majority of these items can be easily purchased from Amazon, so we can all getting some much-needed hits of shopping serotonin while also feeling good about knowing that we're helping out the most vulnerable people in our communities. xo, Lourdes |
