Good morning! It's been another busy week in the travel industry and thankfully, it's been mostly positive except for the disappointing and scary news coming from the CDC: The CDC Is Warning You to Avoid This One Place, Even If You're Vaccinated. You can find that story and all the news, including today’s top 12 travel news stories, below.

JohnnyJet.com on ABC News (KGO)
I talked about some of the top travel stories yesterday on ABC News in San Francisco. They recorded it on a simultaneous Facebook live, which you can watch here. I go on at the 20-minute mark.

How I'm Protecting My CDC Vaccination Card
Last week, I wrote about using a protective sleeve to protect your vaccination card and so many of you were interested but they were sold out. Update: Amazon has them back in stock and ready to ship in a couple of days.

$50 Off Alaska Airlines Flights
I was reading Costco's weekly newsletter and I noticed that they'd begun advertising their $50 off Alaska Airlines flights deal again. I wrote about it in November but not many people bought it. It’s not a bad way to save some money if you fly Alaska. Check it out here.

Is American Airlines Out of Their Minds?
Yesterday I wrote about the crazy offer American Airlines made me this week. You can read all about it here. You'll find some concrete takeaways at the bottom of the page.

Is United Airlines Out of Their Minds?
This is not to be confused with yesterday's story about American Airlines! This one is about United Airlines and is completely different. A reader let me know about an outrageous fee United is charging and if you ask me, it's almost criminal. Here are the details.

JetBlue Reinventing Economy Class
JetBlue just announced more details of its plan to shake up the lucrative transatlantic market, this time unveiling its core experience for travelers who previously flew in other airlines’ “economy” or “coach” offerings. Here’s that story.

How Families Can Avoid Getting Kicked Off A Plane
One of the week’s biggest airline stories (besides Delta canceling over 100 flights and temporarily unblocking the middle seat), was about the family that was removed from a Spirit Airlines flight because their two-year-old wouldn't wear a face mask. But apparently, that's not the whole story. Here's a quick recap of what happened, as well as a face mask solution for kids that I think will make flying much easier for little ones. Read the story here.

I'm Vaccinated!
Last week I wrote about how I just received my second dose of the Moderna vaccine. I only have a week left before I'm fully vaccinated! Here's my experience with CVS and a short video.

Potty Shields: A Must-Have for Traveling with Kids
Great news! We have a sponsor for this month's newsletters and it's a travel product that Natalie and I absolutely love. They're called Potty Shields and parents and grandparents of young children should seriously consider buying them because they're a game-changer for travel, whether you're taking a flight, a road trip or even a day excursion. Read why they're such a travel essential here.

Credit Card Deal of the Week
Incredible Limited Time Offer! This top credit card just got an 80,000-point bonus boost (worth $1000), $50 for groceries, plus Lyft, Peloton, & DoorDash perks that can save you money.

Face Masks For Travel

One thing is for sure: Face masks aren't going away anytime soon and if anything, travelers will need to wear medical-grade masks and/or double masks. Even when I go to the grocery store, I wear a KN95 and a cloth or surgical mask over it, just to be safe. Here are some posts to help you keep safe.
