Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, who had played for LSU, reportedly will be in Omaha to watch the match. The game starts at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
Hundreds of East Baton Rouge school employees have been looking for jobs thanks to the district's massive school realignment plans. Staff writer Charles Lussier reports that some 700 employees will have to change jobs, or, in a few cases, reapply for their old jobs. Of those, about 300 have yet to land a position.
