A Message From the Editor

Good Morning. We're covering decisions by France’s new appeals court for climate litigation, which ruled that two energy giants will have to face complaints alleging they are not in compliance with a 2017 law creating due diligence obligations -- a strong sign that that companies will be facing more environmental litigation. Also, Canadian lawyers are expecting the market for deals to be "robust" in the second half of 2024. And as much of the world has faced abnormally high temperatures this year, The Global Lawyer asks, should law firms consider the role they play in global warming and climate change?
