Let's get on to the headlines: The owner of the site of a proposed gas station that was voted down by the Lafayette City Council is crying foul after another gas station nearby gained council approval. Rehman Altaf, who owns the former Chase Bank building at 1927 W. University Ave., accused council members of having “a double standard” after they approved a similar development at 1803 and 1809 W University Ave. The latter development is awaiting signature from Mayor-President Monique Boulet.
