I didn't watch either awards show, but one celebrity has caught my — and many others' — attention for her kindness at both the Oscars and the Grammys.

You might have heard how Lady Gaga supported Liza Minelli while they presented together at the Oscars. Last weekend, Gaga made headlines again for helping SZA with her dress as SZA took to the stage to accept an award — an award Gaga lost to SZA, no less.

‘It’s now or never’ on climate change action, official warns

The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report warns that 2010-2019 average annual global greenhouse gas emissions were at their highest levels in human history and urgent action is needed.

What is Utah doing?

The Utah Legislature recently approved $3 million in spending to improve the electric vehicle charging network in rural Utah. Utah is also part of a network of seven states that agreed to create a 5,000-mile electric vehicle charging corridor.

Some Democratic-led Western states are trying to accelerate electric vehicle use. Washington recently passed a transportation package that sets a goal of no new gasoline-powered passenger vehicles and light trucks being sold in the state starting in 2030.

Rep. Steve Handy, R-Layton and a co-chairman of the Utah Clean Air Caucus, said innovation and a free market will move Utah in that direction.

“I am very much in favor of lowering emissions, but very much in favor of doing it without a mandate," Handy said.

Why Mitt Romney will vote to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court — but Mike Lee will not

Only three Republicans say they will vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson: Utah Sen. Mitt Romney; Sen. Susan Collins, of Maine; and Lisa Murkowski, of Alaska.

“While I do not expect to agree with every decision she may make on the court, I believe that she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity," Romney said.

Meanwhile, Sen. Mike Lee voted against advancing the Supreme Court nomination of Jackson to the full Senate on Monday.

“We’re told to look at her record, and yet much of what we see from her record is disturbing,” Lee told the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Jackson would replace Justice Stephen Breyer, who is retiring at the end of court’s current term this summer.

A final confirmation vote is expected Thursday or Friday.
