Good morning, and welcome to the February 15 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. I hope you've fully recovered from Valentines Day and Mardi Gras. While New Orleans was reveling in the greatest free party in the world, the Saints announced what we've all known for weeks: Klint Kubiak will be their new offensive coordinator. Here's our lineup of stories today: 'We are excited'The Saints and Kubiak have been linked for a week via various news reports, but the official news of his signing had to be delayed until Kubiak could finish his role as passing-game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58. A day after the 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Saints agreed to a contract with Kubiak and announced the hire. "We are excited," Saints coach Dennis Allen said. New additionKubiak isn't wasting any time in putting together his staff. He reportedly has hired a running backs coach with ties to Louisiana, beat writer Luke Johnson reports. That's it for today. We'll have more coverage throughout the week as news merits. Meantime, enjoy Lent (if that's possible). Cheers, Jeff Duncan |
