Time Out No. #67 | Tuesday 22 February 2022

From curries to kebab houses, pie-and-mash places to the humble chippie, London loves a takeaway. We’re dedicating a whole week online and in print to the concept (you can read about why right here). We’re starting strong with some iconic London chefs giving their top picks for where they go when they can’t be arsed to cook (as well as their takeaway hacks). And then there’s Clash of the Slices: a reader-voted knock-out tournament to determine who really does London's best takeaway pizza. Do you have an opinion on the matter? Of course you do. Get involved.

Francis Bacon’s art is a physical experience. It assaults you, it leers off the walls at you. Every figure in this exhibition is twisted and contorted, every face is screaming. And, as you’d expect, it’s totally brilliant. The Royal Academy.

Nightdresses hang from animal bones, a doll is pinned to a chair with spider legs, mannequins in neat dresses are locked in rusty cages, others are giving birth or shagging each other. Welcome to Hellraiser’s haberdashery. Hayward Gallery.
