Wherever you are in your day-before-Thanksgiving prep, your phone is probably buzzing. So-and-so’s in town, and so-and-so, too. Invite them over. Order takeout. It’s ok that the kitchen’s a mess. It’s ok that you’re still working on that herby compound butter for the potatoes. Stand around in the kitchen and slice into one of those pies you’ve been baking. (Maybe the hazelnut one with the secret layer of chocolate.) You just might find that Thanksgiving pie tastes better before the holiday begins.
