Senator Ron Wyden and Congressman Earl Blumenauer have introduced the Vote At Home Act, which would be a major step toward making the Oregon way of voting the American way of voting!
Here are some of the highlights of what the Vote at Home Act would do:
- Send all registered voters their ballot in the mail weeks ahead of Election Day â just like we do in Oregon.
- Allow all registered voters to cast their ballot through the mail or at a drop-off site â just like we do in Oregon.
- Enact Automatic Voter Registration â just like we do in Oregon.
What's more, it would give the U.S. Postal Service the funding it needs to cover the costs of mailing ballots to and from voters in federal elections.
Oregonians have been voting by mail for more than two decades, and we know it's one of the safest and most accessible ways to hold elections.
