ITB goes global
DEBUT IN THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN
ITB Berlin hosted an LGBT Academy with two workshops on lesbian and gay travel. Last week participants were invited to a half-day event in Tokyo and in the Imperial City of Kyoto to learn more about the globally expanding LGBT market.

Important partners of the workshops included Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau, Hotel Granvia Kyoto, the Japanese publisher Ohta Publications, All Nippon Airways, Out Japan, Out Asia Travel and The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. Other sponsors include the Japan Association of Travel Agents JATA, the Japan Hotel Association Kyoto Branch and IGLTA.

A TOURISM SEGMENT WITH HUGE POTENTIAL
The Muslim tourism market continues to be one of the fastest-growing segments in the global travel industry and provides great chances for the tourism industry. UNWTO estimates that Halal tourism represents 12% of the global tourism expenditure.

Just shortly ITB Berlin has announced a marketing alliance with International Travel Week Abu Dhabi, the world’s only trade show to specialise in the needs of the Muslim travel market.
The show will run from 25th – 26th November 2017 in Abu Dhabi.
