Do you practice yoga? National statistics show that about 1 in 7 adults in the United States do.

Research suggests that yoga may have a variety of health benefits, including reducing the effects of stress, relieving low-back pain and neck pain, helping people quit smoking or lose weight, relieving menopause symptoms, and helping people manage anxiety or depressive symptoms.

Yoga is generally considered a safe form of physical activity for healthy people when performed properly, under the guidance of a qualified instructor. However, as with other forms of physical activity, injuries may occurmost commonly sprains or strains. The risk of injury associated with yoga is lower than that for higher impact physical activities.
