She explains that she has oriented her career around making content that promotes “joy.” Through the lens of RTR’s hit unscripted shows in the home category, Jenna notes today’s “savvy” audiences, the high bar for unscripted talent to meet, and the competition posed by free lifestyle content on social platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram: She explains it as a challenge for “improvement of the craft of producers,” with an imperative to deliver “premium content...ours has to be that much more beautiful, the story has to [have] that much more detail and intrigue, and you have the see the craft evident in the product.” Jenna and Lisa also cover: - The need for lifestyle, particularly home category, talent to not only have exceptional skills, but also to present a “unique point of view” mixed with the ability to teach and be helpful to viewers
- The blueprint established with Home Town stars Ben and Erin Napier for revitalizing towns like their own Laurel, MS, and making the show’s visual style consistent with their vision of the town
- The opportunity to increase representation of communities, lifestyles, and perspectives through unscripted content
