After a brief trip down memory lane, including Quickplay’s acquisition and de-acquisition by AT&T, our conversation delves into the possibility that Quickplay could enable a system wherein streaming subscribers could earn credits for watching programs and/or commercials, and have those credits automatically apply to premium upgrades. It is similar to the “token” system that Quickplay developed for Struum, but could easily be used by a streamer like Paramount+ to generate upgrades to Paramount+ With Showtime. Interesting stuff.
