On this special “Inside Television” edition of the Friday Fireside, Cable Pioneer Tryg Myhren, prior CEO of American Television & Communications (ATC), takes us through some of the early days of cable television. Of particular (and highly amusing) interest are Tryg’s comments about Ted Turner’s 1975 efforts to break lose of earthbound television technology and launch Atlanta’s WTCG Channel 17 for nationwide satellite delivery, starting with ATC. Of course, WTCG begat WTBS, and later Turner Broadcasting (now part of Warner Bros Discovery). It all began with Ted and Tryg!
