At our latest TVOT CONNECT session, Colin Dixon, Chief Analyst of nScreenmedia (primarily) and Tracy Swedlow (who had the flu) of ITVT/TVOT, led a lively discussion on the pros and cons of bundles in the streaming world. They also mentioned our upcoming TVOT conference San Francisco event on June 25-26, with discounted passes and exciting perks for CONNECT MEMBERs only.

John Bergmayer, Legal Director at Public Knowledge, and Jon Giegengack, Principal at HUB Entertainment Research, shared how bundles can boost value and streamline choices—but cautioned against market power imbalances and paying for unused services. Giles Tongue, VP of Marketing at Bango, added that bundles can drive customer retention and satisfaction. Both Giles and Jon shared much data from their recent report.

The big takeaway? Bundles offer convenience, but they’re not always a perfect fit—especially when it comes to managing subscriptions and saving money. "It really depends on the situation" was the common refrain from attendees!

Vote, however, was very PRO bundles.

Friday Fireside: Charlie Ibarra, Co-Founder of Sabio’s Creator Television

The Friday Fireside welcomes Charlie Ibarra, Co-Founder and Head of Content at Sabio’s Creator Television. Charlie takes us through the process of selecting top creators, turning their “Social Media” segments into standard television-length shows, their accelerating distribution growth and (most interesting to the good doctor) the concept of content creators doing brand advertising (while maintaining their unique identities) that will be played throughout the streaming television ecosystem.
