INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2021
This International Women's Day, we're celebrating the achievements of girls in Skateistan programs all over the world. This incredible photo collection of our girls in Mazar-e-Sharif by Juliette Cassidy, highlights how our girls are not afraid to take up space and to push their dreams and ambitions.
Together with our partners, The Skateroom, we're proud to introduce you to Afghan skaters Belqisa, Saeeda, Arezo* and Marzia in our IWD 2021 film. In a place where many girls are discouraged from doing any sport, our students are not afraid to take up space and pursue their ambitions. Happy International Women's Day 2021!
The Skateroom supports our work to empower girls in Afghanistan. Just launched, Skateroom's new hand-signed Raymond Pettibon edition will help raise $50,000 to fund the construction of the skatepark at our fifth Skate School in Bamyan, Afghanistan. It will include a state-of-the-art skatepark, as well as classroom spaces for creative lessons and to give out-of-school children a second chance at an education.
