Each year CMS issues the OPPS proposed and final rules, which detail the changes to Medicare outpatient coding and billing. There are coding changes providers must implement by January 1, as well as major financial implications for financial staff.

During this program, our expert speakers Jugna Shah, MPH, and Valerie A. Rinkle, MPA, will analyze the final rule and deliver a comprehensive program to update you on the major changes coming for 2017 under OPPS. When you understand where CMS is headed in 2017, you'll be in a position to plan your own internal education and process changes.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the most significant changes finalized by CMS
  • Understand the nuances and complexities associated with assessing the financial impact of CMS' packaging changes
  • Determine which comprehensive APCs have been introduced and what procedures are assigned to them
  • Assess the impact of payment and policy changes for off-campus provider-based departments

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • This program is expected to cover:
  • Key financial and operational changes proposed for 2017
  • The top operational challenges hospitals will face next year
  • New codes, deleted codes, and new separately payable APC services
  • New comprehensive APCs
  • Other key changes related to charging, coding, and billing outpatient services
  • Live Q&A
Note: An updated agenda will be available after the rule is released
