Presented in our University Research Gallery, Fernando Bryce’s The Book of Needs is a multipart work comprised of 81 ink-on-paper drawings that explores issues of immigration, refugeeism, cultural difference, racism, indigeneity, and more through the re-creation of 1950s articles from the journal Courier, published by UNESCO.

In our University Teaching Gallery, installations that support Harvard courses will also be on view: Rome: Eternal City and Looking Back: The Western Tradition in Retrospect.


Preview Screening: The Burning Child

Harvard professor Joseph Leo Koerner will be on-hand to answer questions from the audience after this exclusive test screening. Koerner’s film—still in progress—is the culmination of Harvard’s Vienna Project, a scholarly and artistic collaboration exploring that city at the turn of the last century. More



Mark Your Calendar: Opening Celebration for Inventur—Art in Germany, 1943–55

Thursday, February 8, 5–9pm

The first exhibition of its kind, Inventur examines the highly charged artistic landscape in Germany from the mid-1940s to the mid-1950s. Join us to celebrate the exhibition’s opening with a lecture by artist Konrad Klapheck, followed by a reception. Museum galleries will remain open until 9pm. More
