Meidensha Corporation, a Japan-based switchgear manufacturer, expects to usher 41 jobs into Laurens County as it opens its new North American manufacturing base this month.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released a second application window for their Distance Learning and Telemedicine grant. An additional $25 million stemming from the recent Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act will be made available to applicants.

A Dominion Energy spokesman said businesses should always be wary when someone demands immediate payment to avoid a disconnect.
