rantnrave:// ICYMI, this dual interview in 032C looks at the state of creativity today. The basic premise is that artists benefit from behaving like corporate managers, and managers benefit from behaving more like artists by breaking out of rational thinking and looking more to intuition. Great read alongside this interview with JEFF KOONS about his brand collab with LOUIS VUITTON. If ever there was a symbol for the rationalized production of creativity, this is it. That's not lost on Koons. Not sure about the collab's press release though... Creative director FABIEN BARON addresses fashion before and after social media and offers some very smart commentary on companies' mediocre digital presence... THE FASHION SPOT issued its latest diversity report and Spring 2017 print ads did not represent a leap forward for inclusivity. If only it were that easy. Statistics help us track conditions over time, but when it comes to the underlying issues that produce those statistics, there's much harder work to be done. No quotas... The SKELTON brothers are definitely on my radar... The first UN resolution on fashion will be drafted at the COPENHAGEN FASHION SUMMIT on MAY 10. H&M and SWAROVSKI are both involved. Sincere question: how does the international fashion community feel about being represented at the UN by a fast fashion company?... BRANDON BABEZIAN discusses the relaunch of APRIX FOOTWEAR and doing things his own way at NOAH. Time is the ultimate luxury... A company like GRAILED is uniquely positioned to capitalize on discontinued brands. Loved their picks of fashion's defunct labels (with product listings to match!).
