Is your life that taken for granted that you’re okay wasting a day of it, possibly your last day? Do you want to die with thoughts of regret about what you didn’t do? Do you want to know you lived your life to the fullest even if you don’t get to live a statistically full life? | | This blew me away. | rantnrave:// I went deep on NETFLIX over the long weekend... NARCOS season 3. I love the subject matter and it delivered even without PABLO ESCOBAR. Again, much of the show is in Spanish. It makes it stronger. More authentic. I wish more thought with an international frame of mind and produced shows that go back and forth between English and other languages. When it's mixed, subtitles are less of an issue. It's also timely. How do you navigate a system that is run almost completely by corrupt officials? Some don't even realize they're corrupt. Even the bravest are scared and bend the rules. Who can you trust? And when you're paranoid everyone is a target. Congrats to old pal and producer ERIC NEWMAN... WHITE GOLD with a stellar ED WESTWICK (aka GOSSIP GIRL's CHUCK BASS. I want to see him in more, he's that much fun) as a grandiose, shyster UPVC window salesmen in 1980s ESSEX. God knows what they spent on the music. They assembled a great 1980's playlist. And LONGMIRE (I'm only on season 2). Based on the books by CRAIG JOHNSON. It's easy to watch and follow. A modern day WYOMING lawman with old school values. Beyond the sleuthing it delves into race, friendship, politics, family, tragedy and more. Great scenic locations and super likable cast that includes one of my favs KATEE SACKHOFF (aka KARA THRACE aka STARBUCK from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA). This show could have been a very popular CBS show and would have done well at a time when AMERICA needs to see beyond NY and LA... Netflix's ascent has been something to watch. Everyone talks about them. Most competition fear them. AMAZON is really the one to fear if you're in a media company-like fearing mood. They are not a pure play. Their game is bigger and your content just a value add. They are the most impressive company on earth and their effect on the media business is still to be written. My prediction is that their video service will be the 800 lb gorilla in the future and Amazon channels will drive other's SVOD service numbers. If not everyone's media subscription businesses... I'm in a tough position. I need to read and watch to learn. And yet watching the politics over humanity kills my spirit. And yet I can't put my head in the sand. Happier when ignorant. But can't accept being ignorant. I'm a hopeful cynic but another sad day courtesy of the one devoid of empathy... TRUMP playing go fish. MUELLER playing chess... The NFL is a myth-maker. Stories of the STEELERS’ dynasty, AARON RODGERS and BRETT FAVRE under center in GREEN BAY, and ODELL BECKHAM JR.’s famous catch have helped turned the league into a giant. Hear about its stars and their scars in their own words. SportsSET: "4th & Inches: Amazing Oral Histories From the NFL"... WALTER BECKER co-wrote one of the great '70s rock catalogs, in all its musically complex and lyrically twisted glory, while lurking deep in the background of one of the era's oddest partnerships. He died at 67, leaving behind countless jazz chords and darkly funny couplets. MusicSet: "Remembering Walter Becker: Steely Dan's Mystery Man"... As HOUSTON and cities across Texas and Louisiana begin the years-long recovery from the biblical flooding and widespread destruction of HURRICANE HARVEY, here are stories of the people and cities in its terrible path, along with lessons learned and guides to where and how you can help. MediaSET: "Hurricane Harvey: Destruction, Aftermath, How You Can Help"... Happy Birthday to one of my closest pals, MIKE MARQUEZ. I've failed to complete this post a number of times. It's laden with caveats and nuances and limited to just my learning, but it's important that everyone becomes familiar and adept at how to support the cancer patient. But I think it's applicable to any patient whose life is threatened.

What if there were an IMDB for music? Not only would fans be able to dig deeper into their favorite albums, but producers, artists, and other collaborators could catalog their contributions, labels could track data more easily, and businesses would have all of the information they need to license a song right at their fingertips.

Retail, like every industry, faces digital Darwinism as technology and markets evolve and disrupt. This isn't new. But what is clear, executives are not prioritizing bold strategies and investments that save them from their "Kodak Moment," that moment when consumer behaviors and values evolve beyond brand recognition.
