| rantnrave:// Late today, I know. I'm at home sick. Likely got it from one of the babies who are really just petri dishes once school starts... Today's a s*** day anyway. Worst day for a curator is when APPLE makes its announcements. POTUS is an uninformed, narcissistic, lying hate monger. Climate change is on full tilt and we're underwater. CHINA is the de facto new rule maker. And oh, APPLE WATCH now has cellular. Yes, cellular is cool. Not their fault, not totally, but these events have turned boring and uneventful. I know it's canned but it doesn't have to feel canned and it does. I've loved APPLE my whole life. Really never owned much else. And I have a lot of APPLE stuff. A lot. But I feel ignored in recent years. The MACBOOK TOUCH BAR is a disaster and ruined a $4k purchase. Constantly interrupting work and zero acknowledgment that I've seen. APPLE TV is the most buggy and slow device I own. I'm about the iPHONE. And if that falters, I likely fall to AMAZON. FIRE TV is the best product out there. That said, I'm not there yet, but it's beginning to smell a lot like MICROSOFT 2002. I feel a distance as a loyal consumer, when I was always 1000% team Apple. It's just a feeling but I'm going deep on announcements and will return with thoughts... I'd never vote for him, but last night, TED CRUZ became more human. If Cruz will admit that the RUSSIANS are liking porn it could blow the whole thing wide open. These write themselves really. Or is it TWITTER's fault... Watching young SERGIO DIPP on ESPN Monday night was tough. And easy to have fun with. Twitter did. I'm torn. As a broadcaster, this guy clearly wasn't ready or too nervous or I don't know what. His speech was buffered. A weird cadence. It was noticeable. Maybe it was too big of a moment for his career at this point. Not sure. But I laughed. Not a big deal. I feel bad now. Social media was vicious and in many cases racist. And being MEXICAN had nothing to do with it. His accent had nothing to do with it. Morons. I'm always amazed when AMERICANS make fun of someone who speaks more languages than they do. It's the height of bigoted irony. His personal message was heartbreaking and I felt bad. Not to conflate the professional issues, but there are a lot more important things going on in the world that can draw our ire. At least he has a sense of humor about it and I'm all for 2nd chances... The GOP should hire the guy who did the new TROPICANA container a few years back... The importance of understanding UEX and UI of streaming video device services so you can succeed with your own content and service in an OTT world... Think THE DEUCE is trying to even the playing field? A lot of penis exposure in episode 1 given 50 years of female exposure in media. Big gap... If I were to wear a dress other than at BURNING MAN, this would be it... Long live RSS. F death... AMAZON STUDIOS abruptly pisses me off... $20 Million per hour on a series?... Happy Birthday to PAUL HYLAND, KIRK IWANOWSKI, and LAUREN COHEN STARR. | | - Jason Hirschhorn, curator |
