Music has played an important role in Tuareg history and the rebellions that have occurred. But... there is a difference between our traditional music, our political music, party music, our music sung for the love of a woman or your friends or your family. rantnrave:// If KANYE WEST was in charge of marketing for "BATMAN V SUPERMAN," it would open in one movie theater in each of a few medium-sized cities. He would edit some dialog and cut a scene or two after the opening weekend and deliver new prints to each theater. The following week, the whole movie would be re-edited and possibly renamed. On week three, it would open in several other cities with no advance notice. The movie times wouldn't be listed anywhere; you'd just have to show up at a theater and hope you picked the right time. A week after that, all of BEN AFFLECK's scenes would be re-shot with MICHAEL KEATON. Which might just possibly make it a better movie. But it would be a little inconvenient to get to. And the box office receipts might be a little thin… If JAY Z follows through with this, he might be the least sympathetic screwed-by-the-man plaintiff in music history… LUKE BRYAN and DIERKS BENTLEY host one of year's the two major country music awards shows 8 pm ET SUNDAY on CBS. Someone should ask one of them at a press conference if it's the ACMs or the CMAs and see if they know… The DAVID BOWIE tribute show tonight at RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL will be live-streaming here for a small donation. Featuring MICHAEL STIPE, the PIXIES, ESPERANZA SPALDING and many more, but probably not the ROOTS… It's FRIDAY and that means new music from ANDREW BIRD, LUKAS GRAHAM, LEON VYNEHALL, WEEZER, BOMBINO, CHARLES BRADLEY, THE FIELD, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, PET SHOP BOYS, THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS, BIG SEAN & JHENÉ AIKO, BLACK MOUNTAIN, TACOCAT, TEDDY THOMPSON & KELLY JONES, BLEACHED, ROBBIE FULKS and YEASAYER... RIP pianist ANDY "THUNDERCLAP" NEWMAN.

Savages breaks even its own rules
by Greg Kot
When Savages started out, love songs were off the table. The quartet's 2013 debut, "Silence Yourself," was a love-song-free kick in the shins, a hard-hitting series of songs about a refusal to be boxed in. It won the band acclaim and an audience, so how to follow up that success?
