I want them to go out. Playing guilty is a big part of being a really good player in the (NHL). We don’t do that anymore. Heaven forbid! We have agents, and their whole entourage making sure you drink that carrot juice, and all this stuff.

rantnrave:// PATRIOTS-EAGLES. The SUPER BOWL has a familiar feel. That would be BRADY and BELICHICK. Their eighth Super Bowl together. Dynasty is too simple a compliment. Their run isn't just dynastic, it seems unparalleled. Fawning over these Patriots isn't new but it's necessary. Can any team in modern pro sports match this kind of success over such a lengthy run? If this weekend was supposed to be a referendum on the value of quarterbacks in the NFL, it only reinforced the status quo. They remain insanely important, despite the inevitable questions. The great quarterback remains the difference between playoff team and championship contender. A very good defense or collection of super-talented skill players can get you so far. In the AFC, Brady over BORTLES was the margin between winning and losing. In the NFC, NICK FOLES had the game of his life and CASE KEENUM flopped. It's possible to make an argument that neither Foles or Keenum is all that good. Put inconsistent players into difficult situations and expect volatility. It's unlikely that Foles would play as well as he did. Great players bring predictability and stability. The VIKINGS can ride Keenum to the NFC championship game and never be sure that at some point he won't regress back into pre-2017 Case Keenum. This goes for the Super Bowl too. The Eagles have a terrific defense, a destructive running game and a strong offensive line but who's willing to bet on a faulty QB to beat Brady? ELI MANNING only happens twice... Congrats Eagles and Patriots fans... Hardest hit the Eagles took all night... Is this the season we should finally worry about the CAVALIERS? It's mid-January so this question is right on time. But maybe this is it. The end of the run in CLEVELAND. LEBRON is blasting warning signs. Could be time to panic. Then again, we've been here before and it usually ends with the RAPTORS losing in five or six. Maybe this year is different. But no way to tell yet... We let them into our living rooms every night. They don't just call the games, they are a part of the experience. And they have some stories of their own to tell. SportsSET: "Soundtrack of Sports: The Stories Behind the Voices"... The photo I wanted to run atop this newsletter... Maybe NFL ratings are falling because we can't watch any more "Dilly Dilly" commercials?
