I never did say that you can’t be a nice guy and win. I said that if I was playing third base and my mother rounded third with the winning run, I’d trip her up.

rantnrave:// When I go to a game, I'm a finicky fan. I need food and drinks but I also need fast wifi, easy access to an outlet and an experience that goes beyond schlocky (but funny) JUMBOTRON videos. And I'm sure I'm just demanding the basics. Going to a stadium in 2017 means spending money to leave home, where I can watch the game with a big TV, comfortable seating, the right temperature and a second or third screen. It takes a lot to get fans out of the house and pay hefty prices for tickets. Teams have had to adjust. From ordering food from their seats to scouting out short bathroom lines via an app, fans have seen tech revolutionize sports stadiums. They crave more than just beer and a good game. Now, fans get an experience that's worth leaving home for. SportsSET: "Stadium of the Future"... But the latest technology isn't always the best answer. I'm reading THE REVENGE OF ANALOG (thanks for the suggestion, DAVID HOLLANDER). A fascinating look at how analog products continue to thrive in the digital era. Can the sports world learn something from this? I was at MSG when the KNICKS played a half without any music or piped in noise -- just shoes squeaking and shots clanking off the rim. Liked it. Give me more. There's a middle ground between highlighting the sport and providing the technological innovations fans want. We go to games for the games. Technology shouldn't dilute that. It's there to fill in the dead spots, not to overwhelm the moments when the clock is running... Here are the companies, consoles, and titles that ate your quarters and bruised your thumbs. MediaSET: "Ready Player One: Video Game Oral Histories"... I love the NBA DRAFT. The NFL DRAFT. Any sports draft. But I see the inequity of it and the way it's unfair to players. It cuts down on freedom of employment and is a bit of a relic. Drafts began when leagues didn't have salary caps or the structure they do now. It was an way to prevent one team from grabbing all the top prospects. That's not the case anymore. Turning the draft into free agency would be fun. No mock drafts but lots of game theory on how to pay players and value the money under the cap. But what would replace all the TV programming hours?... Thursday's draft did not disappoint. The 76ERS can now start the process of winning. JIMMY BUTLER is reunited with his old coach after a BULLS-T'WOLVES trade. KRISTAPS PORZINGIS stayed put. And LAVAR BALL got what he wanted: LONZO in L.A... GLOW drops today on NETFLIX. Will I be done binging by Monday morning?
