LeBron James owes nobody anything. Nobody. When my mother told me I don't owe her anything, from that point in time, I don't owe anybody anything.

rantnrave:// The NBA is back. Who can stop the WARRIORS? The Warriors. An NBA season hasn't been this pre-ordained since the JORDAN years. We're living in the age of THE super-team. It's GOLDEN STATE against the world. Is it bad for the NBA that everyone agrees on how the 2017-18 season will end? Or is that groupthink? Playing for second place isn't a good tagline. Are we in a post-results era? The weirdest season in years. Where the stars and storylines are juicier than the games. The NBA might've had its best summer yet, and it didn't change this season's forecast. Focus on the journey, not the destination. LEBRON and the CAVS are ramping up for one more run before he might bolt. The CELTICS chased stars and got KYRIE IRVING and GORDON HAYWARD. But Hayward is out after a gruesome injury in the opener. Do they have enough to loosen LeBron's stranglehold on the Eastern Conference? The season-opener was a tough start. Can JAMES HARDEN and CHRIS PAUL fit together in HOUSTON? It worked against the Warriors for a night. Are the THUNDER good enough and deep enough to give the Warriors a run? Is one ball enough to make it work? Is LONZO BALL for real or is his dad a good hype man? Who'll give us the next TWITTER beef? Do you trust the process? SportsSET: "The Warriors Are Basketball 2.0"... The rash of early retirements from the NFL in recent years were seen as bellwethers for football's future. A handful of players are leaving the NFL early but focusing on that ignores that hundreds are still playing. PANTHERS linebacker LUKE KUECHLY might've suffered his third concussion in three season. He turned to experimental tech to try to save his brain. He's a poster boy for football's concussion problem. We notice the players who leave, let's talk about players who stay... An anthology of hockey goalie masks... Looking for a fitness class in LA? NATE DERN did the research for you... When there's no time to focus on the past because you've got work today... Turns out the eternal flame had an expiration date... Back to the Bay.

My date with the phlebotomist was surprisingly convenient. She came to my house in rural Colorado and drew a few tiny tubes of my blood.
