Now that I know the women’s division is secure, I don’t have to do that anymore. I choose not to. It’s not something I really get a kick off of like, ‘Ooh, I want to spend 12 hours at ESPN and talk [crap] all day.’ That’s not really what I’d want to do.

rantnrave:// What does a university listen to, the company providing it millions of dollars or its own set of standards? That’s the dilemma at GEORGETOWN, where a group of students are demanding the school ends its relationship with NIKE because the apparel company doesn’t comply with its Code of Conduct for University Licensees – and is the only vendor not to sign it. The code of conduct sets out clauses for certain working conditions for the vendors that do business with Georgetown and Nike has admitted human rights issues at its factories. But apparel contracts are huge deals in college sports. They provide a tremendous influx of revenue for athletic departments, and with the Nike contract expiring at the end of this month, Georgetown could be in for a large payday. In recent years, MICHIGAN signed a contract to receive more than $10 million a year from Nike and UCLA will get nearly $18 million from ADIDAS. We often hear about how colleges change their standards and morals in pursuit of athletics and its glory. Georgetown’s response will be a high-profile example of whether they are willing to make that tradeoff… LEXIE THOMPSON made her debut on the PGA TOUR – the first time in 13 years a female golfer has joined the men. Looks like she’s doing pretty well… Consider me old school but I like my SUPER BOWL commercials the way they are. I’d hope that changing how companies advertise during the game wouldn’t diminish the creativity. Then again, what’s the point of spending so much money for an ad when you could probably reach large audiences for much cheaper now… RAIDERS punter MARQUETTE KING is all the rage in the NFL now. He’s received endless media coverage this week. This story thinks it’s because he’s interesting on TWITTER. I think it’s because he’s just interesting, period – and that’s valuable currency in the NFL… ART BRILES is suing BAYLOR, saying the school falsely claimed he knew of the gang rape and sexual assault allegations against his players and didn’t report it. He also thinks the school is preventing him from getting another job. We'll see what the court says. But forcing the school to go through discovery could give us the clearest picture yet of the internal workings of a high-level college football program... As TIGER WOODS tries to jumpstart his career, we look back at his two-plus decades of relevance in the new REDEF SportsSET "Tiger Woods: Wunderkind to Wondering What's Left.”
