Good morning from Crete,

on Thursday the 2nd May at 16:00 UTC we are running our 6th "Heinz's Happy Hour" webinar. You can sign up here:

Topic: Parallel Divide and Conquer with CompletableFutures

Abstract: CompletableFutures are the rage today. We use them to describe complicated concurrent workflows. For example, HttpClient in Java 11 returns them when we send asynchronous requests. They can also describe parallel divide and conquer workflows. In this webinar, we will start by parallelizing a large Fibonacci calculation with Fork/Join. We will then change java.math.BigInteger to multiply in parallel. You will learn how to patch with the new modules system. Then we will show the issues with Fork/Join and show a solution based on CompletableFuture. This webinar will be interesting for intermediate to advanced Java programmers.

There is a short delay of up to 15 minutes from when you sign up and until you are entered into the GoToWebinar system. GoToWebinar then sends you your personalized join link. Please let me know a bit in advance if you don't get it. Once we begin, I will be 100% focused on the webinar and will not be able to help you with technical issues.

As always, the recording will be available for purchase afterwards. The webinar itself is free.

We will have our usual discussion during the webinar in our slack channel: https://javaspecialists.slack.com/messages/heinzs-happy-hour

Kind regards

Heinz
