| Start spreading the news. Jayden Daniels is leaving today. Well, maybe not today. But like Frank Sinatra, the LSU quarterback is going to make a brand new start in old New York ... so to speak. Monday evening, Daniels was named one of four finalists for this year's Heisman Trophy along with quarterbacks Bo Nix of Oregon and Michael Penix of Washington, as well as Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison. The four will be in New York this weekend for the Heisman presentation, which is set for 7 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. As I'm sure you know, the four weren't just picked at random. They're the top four vote-getters in this year's balloting that closed Monday afternoon. Will Daniels become LSU's third Heisman winner after Billy Cannon in 1959 and Joe Burrow in 2019? The odds continue to say a resounding yes. And as I lay out in my column, those aren't the only numbers that say he should win. All the numbers and all the eye tests do as well. Daniels is already starting to pick up postseason awards. Last week he won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award and Monday he was named Associated Press SEC offensive player of the year. Several other LSU players earned All-SEC honors as well, and you can check out the entire list right here. Finally, the odds are being set for bowl season, so naturally we've got those numbers for you on LSU's Jan. 1 ReliaQuest Bowl game against Wisconsin in Tampa.
