Jayden Daniels may be moving closer to being cleared to play for LSU on Saturday against Florida. The LSU quarterback was expected to return to practice Wednesday and be cleared for contact Thursday. But it's hardly a sure thing since Daniels was sent into concussion protocol in the Alabama game by a vicious hit (illegal?) from Bama's Dallas Turner. Thursday should tell the tale. Meanwhile, the Tigers are making their preparations for the Gators in case Daniels can play or backup Garrett Nussmeier has to start. Wednesday was a fast news day at LSU and we've got a lot of stories for you. So, as they used to say on "CNN Sports Tonight," here are the stories on a hard roll: - My column on the whole Daniels/Garrett Nussmeier thing, with a little LSU women's basketball thrown in.
- Wilson Alexander, bucking for Santa I assume, is here with his weekly LSU mailbag.
- More women's basketball, with details on LSU's championship celebration before Thursday's game against Queens.
- The national signing period began Wednesday, and the women's basketball team picked up the top player in the state.
- Men's basketball also picked up a couple of big signees as well.
- How well did you think the NCAA women's basketball championship game between LSU and Iowa was officiated? If you say "not great," the NCAA apparently agrees with you.
- Here are the top five college football games for Saturday.
- The LSU gymnastics team signed arguably the nation's best recruiting class Wednesday, landing four top prospects.
- Finally, we've got a story about this whole Joe Burrow LSU/Ohio State/here's the name of my high school instead during the NBC Sunday Night Football player introductions. A lot of folks are up in arms about whether the Tigers or the Buckeyes should get to claim him. Let me put it this way: Who cares? But, as we said, there is a story and here's a link.
That was a long list. If you've made it to the end, many thanks. We appreciate you being a reader and a subscriber. You're the blue chip recruit to our national signing day. Until next time, Scott Rabalais |
