Jazz Fest planning: And, now you can really start making your Jazz Fest plans. The always-popular "cubes" were released this morning, our friends at Gambit report. The cubes, of course, tell us when and where the various acts will play. Plan on!
Jefferson Parish school closures: The smoke is still clearing from a consultant’s report last night that recommends closing a number of public schools and consolidating campuses across Jefferson Parish. The School Board will meet soon to discuss and possibly act on the proposal, Blake Paterson reports.
Challenged books: Five books have survived a challenge in St. Tammany Parish. The Library Board went late into Monday night before voting to return the books to the shelves of the parish’s public libraries, Sara Pagones reports.
The Six Flags plan: A very ambitious redevelopment plan for the old Six Flags park was unveiled to New Orleans East residents Monday night. At a staggering $900 million, the master plan calls for hotel rooms, sports fields, a water park and much more, Ben Myers reports.
Gas station eats: Nothing says great fried chicken like a . . . gas station? Across the metro, readers tell us some great food is emerging for the most unlikely places. For even more food and drink coverage, please sign up for our Where NOLA Eats newsletter.
