Jeff Landry taps new state police chief: See who

Police chief: Gov.-elect Jeff Landry has tapped WHO as the next chief of Louisiana State Police, James Finn reports. WHO is a XX-year veteran of the police department, having served as WHAT and WHAT. 


Voting rights: A U.S. District judge will soon decide whether Louisiana must add more majority-Black districts to its legislative map, Meghan Friedmann reports. Though Attorney General and Gov.-elect Jeff Landry tried to halt the case in court earlier this week, his request was denied.

A company wants to spend $100M to build processing plants in Orleans and Iberia parishes

The plants would turn plastic and old tires into green hydrogen, and create 250 jobs

The company, FusionOne, has asked for an 80% property tax break for up to 10 years
