Closed primaries? Newly inaugurated Gov. Jeff Landry wants to transition Louisiana's open primary system to closed, separate primaries for GOP and Democratic candidates, James Finn reports. That plan is already facing headwinds.


Pregnancy centers: Louisiana has sent $6 million in federal grants in recent years to so-called crisis pregnancy centers, which offer women abstinence-based sex education, pregnancy tests and more. But the Biden administration could soon cut that funding, Finn reports. Here's why. 


Legislature sworn in: A Republican-led Louisiana Legislature was sworn into office Monday with plans to work closely with Landry to enact more conservative policies on crime, education and taxes, Finn and Tyler Bridges report.
