Weather watch: It’s August, which of course means we’re sweating... and keeping an eye on the tropics. Forecasters say a tropical depression could form sometime this weekend or early next week over the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Ugh. C'mon fall.
Jefferson Parish power outages: Following several recent power outages, the Jefferson Parish Council has invited Entergy reps to the next council meeting. The questions could be pointed. “Right now we can’t make it through a sunny day,” Council member Scott Walker told reporter Lara Nicholson.
COVID uptick: Covid cases are on the rise across Louisiana. Reporter Emily Woodruff says the summer uptick has become a familiar pattern.
Anticipated reopening: The red gravy crowd shuddered when news broke in June that Tony Mandina’s Restaurant in Gretna was closing. The restaurant will reopen Friday, carrying a well-known name: Venezia, Ian McNulty reports.
