After some all-to-brief cameos from Jenson Button in recent years, it’ll be great to have him back in a racing paddock on a full-time basis next year.
Fresh from his well-publicised exploits with NASCAR’s Garage 56 entry at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the 2009 F1 world champion be back behind the wheel of a Cup car later next month at the exciting new Chicago Street Race.
His fire for racing has been well and truly relit, and Jenson says he’s targeted a full-time return in endurance racing in 2024 – which will no doubt include Le Mans again – in either the World Endurance Championship or IMSA SportsCar Championship. And when I asked him if he’d be interested the new breed of GTP cars in the latter, he replied: “Yeah, I would.”
With his love for great-sounding American cars, I’d love to see him in an Action Express Racing 5.5-litre V8 Cadillac V-Series.R next year… By: Charles Bradley, Global Editor in Chief Motorsport.com |
