Alaska slows growth, reduces costs after 35% 2Q net income drop

Alaska Air Group—parent of Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and Horizon Air—reported a 2018 second-quarter net income of $193 million, down 35% compared to net income of $293 million in the 2017 2Q. 


Spirit profits on 2Q improved ancillary revenue, on-time performance

Fort Lauderdale-based ultra-LCC Spirit Airlines returned to profitability in the second quarter of 2018, posting an $11.3 million net profit on top of a 21.6% rise in revenue.

SkyWest boosts 2Q profit on E175 fleet additions

SkyWest Inc., continuing to benefit from its fleet transition, posted net income of $76 million in the second quarter, up 34% from net income of $50.5 million in the 2Q 2017.
