BoldBrush Recommends: Jill PearsonGet Notified When Jill Posts New Art BiographyJill Pearson began her career over twenty years ago as an illustrator and graphic designer. Her digital collages appeared in numerous publications and were exhibited in shows at New York's Society of Illustrators. Jill's illustration work was created by building layers of scanned objects, photographs and more in Photoshop; this digital exploration, coupled with her education in traditional media, served as a foundation for her work as an abstract artist. After many years working as an illustrator and graphic designer, she shifted her focus to abstract art. Jill exhibits in the Philadelphia area and also sells work through her website. Artist Statement Unlike my early illustration work that started with a sketch, my abstract art begins intuitively as I build and remove layers using acrylic paint, cut and torn paper, and drawing media. I then use my design skills to respond to what is before me and refine the composition. Most of my colorful, textured art is inspired by nature and the juxtaposition of man made artifacts against the landscape. I aim to evoke a sense of movement in my work to represent time and space, and invite the viewer to reflect on their own memories. Who Does Kevin Macpherson Trust with His Website? FASO, of Course!
