Police nab suspects in area-wide smash and grab crimes: Bainbridge Township police blotter
Noticing it was abnormally cold in his car as he drove home 6:50 p.m. Dec. 16 from the Chagrin Valley Athletic club, a Moreland Hills man stopped and discovered someone had broken out his back passenger window and stolen his briefcase containing papers, cash and checks totaling $2,450. Two of five suspects were caught Dec. 20 when their car crashed during a police chase in Willoughby. Items from the Moreland Hills victim’s car along with items from similar crimes throughout Geauga County were found in the crashed car. The other three suspects fled on foot.
